YouthCare Initiative is a student-led nonprofit led by teams of high schoolers to create care boxes for pediatric facilities during holiday seasons.
YouthCare Initiative was founded by Zoe Carino from William Tresper Clarke High School in 2025. As a cancer survivor and Cohen's Children's Hospital Child Ambassador, she wanted to extend support and kindness to pediatric patients through student-led community action. By creating YouthCare Initiative in her district, she was able to connect students with meaningful volunteer experiences as well as opportunities to bring comfort, creativity, and joy to children receiving medical care.
YouthCare Initiative currently serves 3 pediatric facilities... and is continuing to grow! From this, our volunteers create personalized care boxes for distribution during Thanksgiving, Winter seasons, Valentine's Day, and Children's Day. Our work aims to help Child Life Specialist workers enhance inpatient and outpatient stays.
